- The Treehouse is amazing for rooftop Yoga with a view, Ksh 1,200 per session at 8am and 5pm
- Lichthaus is an awesome sundowner spot with delicious BBQ food – Advance booking is essential if you want a table or creek hammock (Confirm if there is a minimum spend!)
- Temple Point has a great open plan gym with group classes. They also have a co-working space, outdoor cinema, wine club, dhow cruises & yoga with a creek view- Check their schedule here
- Unreel Fishing is a great sport fishing boat run by experienced skipper Rob Hellier: +254 710 350963
- Isaac on Jacaranda beach is a fantastic qualified local kitesurfing instructor
- Tribe Watersports can organise SUPing, dolphin watching, waterskiing & kite surfing – They’re top notch but on the expensive side!
- JC Kite school is on Garoda beach and a reliable kiting outfit run by friendly Jacopo
- BioKen snake farm is a community run snake & venom research centre – Call ahead to pre book your visit 0707 577748
- Gede ruins and Arabuko sokoke forest are cool day trips if you want to get out of Watamu
- Hells Kitchen Marafa is an incredible hiking spot – 1.5hr drive and go early am / late pm to avoid the heat!

- Sunset Beach Watamu – Awesome pizzas and sundowners overlooking Watamu bay
- Kokomo Beach Bar & Restaurant – Sunset spot which serves up cocktails and delicious Med food (expect delays when busy) Often host DJ’s for sunset sets on weekends, check their IG
- Lichthaus – Popular sundowner / party spot which does simple but delicious buffet BBQ mini-meals. Can get v busy so book ahead.
- Rock & Sea is a panoramic seafood restaurant across the creek that offers a free boat transfers from Lichthaus – Advance booking recommended
- Kobe is a beachfront Italian restaurant & bar – Not always open to outside guests during high season (Dec – Jan)
- Tamu Beach Bar & Restaurant – Excellent Italian restaurant on Jacaranda beach
- Papa Remo is a great beach club with good pizzas and private daybeds for hire
- Visiwa is a fancy Italian restaurant and beach bar with pool & day beds
- Pilipan is a good creek-facing sundowner spot that hosts weekly Happy Hours, decent food but service can be slow
- Prawn Lake is a cool local joint with great samosas, seafood and cold(ish) beers – Great view for sundowners!
- Crab Shack is a locally owned seafood restaurant with beautiful views of Mida Creek – Best to go at 5pm to miss the heat and catch the sunset! Simple food and vibes
- Amici Miei Café does good coffee, ice cream and snack food
- Non Solo Gelato also does great panini, coffee & gelato
